Goals of the POLISH PIANO TEACHERS ASSOCIATION EPTA-POLAND are basically the same as the goals of the previous Polish association belonging to EPTA - the "Polish Association of Pedagogues-Pianists", which was established on June 12, 1990.  According to the document "Biuletyn informacyjny" No.1/91 of January 1991 they were as follows [quote]:

§ 8  Goals of the society are:
1. Integration of environment of musicians teaching piano, actively and creatively working to constant development the level of Polish pianistics and fans of piano playing.
2. Increase of members' musical qualifications and protection over development of young personnel of Polish piano pedagogy.
3. Cooperation with state authorities, social organizations in establishing favorable conditions for development and widespread of musical culture.
4. Exchange of pedagogical experiences in the country and abroad.
§ 9  Association executes its goals by:
1. Organizing conferences, conventions, lectures, discussions, concerts, competitions, seminars and courses increasing qualifications as well as funding stipends and prizes (awards).
2. Running "musical circles" ("ogniska muzyczne") in order to common playing and teaching piano.
3. Establishing and running collection of pianistic materials ranging from music scores to recordings.

CHANGES:      GOALS of the Polish Piano Teachers Association EPTA-POLAND
(since May 6, 2006)

Detailed and final defining of EPTA-Poland's goals took place in debate during the first convention of the new organization named "POLSKIE STOWARZYSZENIE NAUCZYCIELI FORTEPIANU EPTA-POLAND" ("Polish Piano Teachers Association EPTA-Poland") on May 6, 2006. The final modifier of goals and ways to achieve them has been formulated in a new charter. (Click on button CHARTER in the bottom to read the complete Charter Document /in Polish language/. All of the goals and aims quoted above as §8 of the Polish Association of Pedagogues-Pianists' charter have been enforced as the main goals of the new EPTA-Poland (after necessary language adjustments and minor changes).

Items of §9 of the old charter, indicating ways to achieve proposed goals, have been changed mostly due to new realities. The first item above (§9 item 1.) is of fundamental significance and has been extended just by the goals connected with much needed activities of local branches, which are supported and promoted by EPTA (also carrying its logo); the next items (2. and 3.) made no much sense and were erased. Running "musical circles" legally belongs to domains of other organizations; running special "collections" becomes not only pointless (because of wide accessibility of such materials), but also because of very limited financial possibilities of EPTA-Poland in this sphere. As far as item 4 (of §9) is concerned,  instead of mentioned printed publication - setting up of widely accessible, free of editorial cost internet magazine is being planned on this web site (button "MAGAZINES" on the left). According to our goals - such Magazine will not only be able to host various publications about piano playing and teaching, but also will be able to run a modern, interactive discussion forum (so called - "conference room") and become an open platform for exchange of views and free statements of pianists, piano teachers, piano students, pupils of music schools, music critics and everybody seriously interested in the art of piano playing.
